Your Theory and Hazard Perception Test, ADI Part 1 Home Study Course will consist of all of the publications listed below
It includes a workbook to guide you through your studies in a structured way, and allows you to monitor your progress continually.
The study material includes books and DVDs, as well as some documents that can be supplied in a format to read on a computer or tablet.
It is essential that you gain a very thorough and detailed knowledge of all the subjects covered by the Examination,
this is not only in order to pass the ADI Part 1 Examination
but also to avoid problems caused by a lack of knowledge arising on the driving ability test, ADI Part 2,
or the instructional ability test, ADI Part 3,
and to have the knowledge to teach, your future clients will expect you to be an expert, to achieve this a large amount of study will be needed.
This course is extremely effective and people using it often score 99% or 100% in the Examination.
The course is comprehansive and self contained, and you should be able to successfully pass the DVSA ADI Part 1 need any additional help.
However extra help is available if needed, Driving Instructor Trainers also offers:

- Free email help service
- The same principle as the telephone helpline, send an email with your question, we will respond either by email or telephone.
- Free Zoom help service
- Anything that you do not understand, or want clarification on that cannot be resolved by a phone call or an email, we can arrange a Zoom call.
- One to One tuition
- In the extremely rare event that we cannot solve your problem by telephone, email or Zoom, we can organise one to one tuition on any topic that you require, this would however incur additional fees.
The DVSA ADI Part 1 Home Study Course, is a self contained course to help you to study and prepare for DVSA ADI Part 1, and provide you with the essential foundation to help your preparation for DVSA ADI Part 2 and Part 3.
We are happy to help you to prepare for the DVSA ADI Part 1 exam, however, the telephone, email and Zoom help facility is not meant to be used as a full training course, they are there to provide additional help for anything that you do not understand from your own studies, we ask that you use them appropriately.
Hazard Perception Test Preparation
To prepare for the Hazard Perception element of the test your home study programme will include DVDs, which will help you to understand how the test is conducted and what is expected of you.
They will also give you ideas to develop your hazard perception to a higher level.
The Hazard Perception test is designed to test a real life skill, not to learn to play a video game,
so while the DVDs, are a great help,
part of your training for the Driving Ability Test, DVSA ADI Part 2 will be concerned with Hazard Perception,
this helps both with the Hazard Perception Test and with developing your driving up to the high standard required,
for this reason we recommend that you overlap your training for ADI Part 1 and ADI Part 2.
