Test of Driving Ability DVSA ADI Part 2
The Test of Driving Ability, DVSA ADI Part 2 is an Advanced Driving Test.
DVSA ADI Part 2 The Test of Driving Ability can only be applied for after passing DVSA ADI Part 1, The Theory and Hazard Perception Test.
The test lasts about 1 hour and can include driving on all types of road; urban, rural, dual carriageways and motorways.
At the start of the test there is an eyesight test, and candidates will be asked three questions about safety checks and then a further 2 questions whilst on the move regarding using the car controls.
These questions are commonly referred to as Show Me, Tell Me Questions.
An emergency stop exercise will be carried out in one out of every three tests.
Two set exercises that include reversing will be included in the test.
- Reverse Parking (either into a bay in a car park, or on the road behind a parked car).
- Drive forward into a parking bay in a car park, and then reverse out.
- Pull up near the right kerb, reverse about 2 car lengths, and then drive on.
