DVSA ADI Part 1, Theory And Hazard Perception Test Explained
After obtaining a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and registering through the DVSA website, the next step in the qualification process to become a driving instructor is the Theory And Hazard Perception Test, DVSA ADI Part 1
There is no limit to how many attempts you are allowed at DVSA ADI Part 1, however, each attempt obviously results in increased expense.
DVSA ADI Part 1 consists of two elements:
- The Theory Test
- The Hazard Perception Test
Both elements must be passed at the same time; failing either element means that the whole test has to be retaken.
The Theory Test consists of 100 multiple choice questions on a variety of topics, including:
- Road Procedure
- Traffic Signs & Signals
- Pedestrians
- Car Control
- Mechanical Knowledge
- Law
- Driving Test
- Disabilities
- Instructional Techniques
- Publications
The Hazard Perception Test consists of 14 video clips featuring 15 scorable hazards which must be identified
The Hazard Perception Test is not a test of your reaction time, it is a test of anticipation.
The earlier each hazard is identified the higher the score.
