Standards Check Preparation
Standards Check Preparation For Driving Instructors DVSA ADIs
Driving Instructor Trainers is able to offer help to any Driving Instructor, DVSA ADI wanting to prepare for a Standards Check
- There are many reasons why a driving instructor may want or need help to prepare for a Standards Check
- Some ADIs may still be unfamiliar with the requirements of this assessment, and are still basing their teaching on the requirements for the old pre 2014 ADI Check Test
- Some ADIs may still be basing their teaching on the old DVSA ADI Part 3, before it was revised in December 2017
- The goal of some ADIs may be to achieve a high grade or mark on their Standards Check
- The goal of some ADIs may simply be to get the Standards Check over with, whatever the mark, and get back to the day job of teaching
The Best Way To Prepare For A Standards Check
- There are various options available to help you to prepare for a Standards Check
- Private study, either of books, articles or websites
- A classroom based workshop
- A workshop delivered by Zoom
- One to one training
- Whatever combination of preparation methods you use, it is important to be well prepared
- The best preparation method will be different for each individual
What Do I Do If I Don't Pass My Standards Check?
- An ADI is normally given three opportunities to pass a Standards Check
- The best plan is obviously to get the mark that you want or need, at the first attempt
- The pressure can easily mount if you need a second or third attempt
- It is incredibly rare for anyone to ever be given a fourth attempt at a Standards Check
- It requires absolutely extremely exceptional circumstances for a fourth attempt to be given
- If you do not pass a Standards Check, the biggest mistake can be to be embarrassed, and avoid seeking help
- It is not unusual to receive a phone call from someone about to take their third Standards Check in a few days time, seeking help
- If a Standards Check is failed, the sooner you seek help the better
- It gives you time to work out what help you need
- It gives you time to make any changes required in your tuition to ensure success the next time
- Making last minute changes might work, but if you have time to consolidate any changes to your tuition properly, you can be much more relaxed and natural on your next Standards Check
